On October 8th, we had a wonderful time celebrating Hangul Day (한글날) at the historic Ahn House (USC)! Hangul Day is celebrated in Korea every October 9 to commemorate the invention and proclamation of Hangul.
From trying out Hangul calligraphy and making crafts to enjoying tteokbokki, kimbap, and traditional games, we came together to honor the beauty of Korea’s unique writing system and culture.
We also enjoyed watching heartfelt videos made by USC students sharing why they love the Korean language.
Grateful to our co-hosts and everyone who made this meaningful day possible!
This event was hosted by the King Sejong Institute Center, Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles, USC Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, USC Korean Studies Institute, and USC Korean Heritage Library.
