SPRING Semester Detail


  • Classes are designed for those who wish to learn about the Korean language and culture.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age as of the first class.
  • Classes may be canceled without notice due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maximum 20 students depending on the class.
  • Academic terms are defined by program schedule and may not correspond to meteorological seasons.

Registration for the 2026 Spring Semester will be opened 2 weeks before the first day of the semester (30th of December, 00:00AM, PT).

※Tuition Refund & Level Change Policy: Any cancellation or refund requests must be received via email (ksicusa@ksif.or.kr) before the second session of the course. You may change your course level before this deadline if space is available, but once the class enters the second session of the semester, no cancellation, refund or level change will be permitted.

SPRING Semester Classes


BASIC A (5PM)

In-Person

BASIC A is designed for students who are not yet able to read or write in Hangul. Throughout this course, students will acquire the skills to combine consonants, vowels, and consonant endings, enabling them to read and write with ease. Additionally, they will gain proficiency in basic phrases and grammar. In this section, we delve into the content of the Sejong Korean 1A textbook, specifically focusing on the first half.

You may purchase the books from an online or physical bookstore, or use the free e-books provided. The link to access the e-book is located just above this class description, and textbook purchasing information can be found at the bottom of this page.

Participants will acquire knowledge of Korean sentence structures and verb conjugations, enabling them to introduce themselves, describe people and objects in their immediate environment, and use phrases for shopping. We navigate through the second half of the Sejong Korean 1A textbook. Even if you haven't studied the earlier parts of the Sejong Korean 1A textbook, anyone can take this class if it suits your level.

Basic C introduces an elevated level of basic grammar, vocabulary, and language structure, empowering students to construct tools for more confident conversations and increased familiarity with both spoken and written Korean. This class employs interactive exercises to enhance conversational skills, emphasizing grammatical accuracy and situational drills. In this class, the first half of the textbook King Sejong 1B will be covered.


INTERMEDIATE A (7:10PM)

In-Person

Intermediate A is tailored for students who have finished Basic C or possess equivalent proficiency. The course aims to furnish students with intermediate communicative skills across all domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In this class, the first half of the textbook King Sejong 2A will be covered.

INTERMEDIATE B (7:10PM)

7:10P.M. - 9:00P.M. on Tuesday
In-Person

Intermediate B is crafted for students who have successfully completed Intermediate A or possess equivalent proficiency. This course will focus on expanding vocabulary and mastering new grammar patterns. Speaking, listening, reading, and writing will be equally emphasized in this course in order to develop well-balanced functional proficiency in Korean.  Please note that the assigned textbook is King Sejong 2B. In this class, the first half of the textbook will be covered.

INTERMEDIATE C (7:00PM)

7:00PM-8:50PM on Thursday
In-Person

Intermediate C is for students who have successfully completed Intermediate B or possess equivalent proficiency. The goal of this course is to develop functional proficiency in Korean at the intermediate level in listening, speaking, and reading and writing. Students will develop competence in fluency, grammatical accuracy and cultural appropriateness through a variety of tasks and assignments. This course will integrate Korean cultural themes with language learning to enhance students’ acquisition of Korean language and to deepen their understanding of the cultural aspects of Korean society. The assigned textbook is King Sejong 3A. In this class, the first half of the textbook will be covered.

  • We do offer FREE PARKING.
  • You can enter through Dunsmuir Ave.
  • No validation is needed, but please note that the parking lot may be very crowded. We recommend carpooling whenever possible. A security guard will be on-site to help direct traffic, and double parking may be necessary. If you double park, please make sure to move your car as soon as the class ends.
